As per Dr. Ian Pearson, a futurologist, the human species may be changing and “evolve” to a different “version. We may be Homo Optimus as early as 2050. Why?

Because humans may achieve Electronic Immortality. In the coming decades, all our thoughts and experiences may be uploaded for electronic storage for future. The interface between computers and human biological systems will increase manifold via specific implants.

Something called transhumanism via better computing-human interface will make us – ironically – technologically better!

‘With optimised genomes and bodies enhanced by links to external technology, people could be more beautiful…more intelligent, more emotionally sophisticated, more physically able, more socially connected, generally healthier and happier all round.’

As we move towards our Android or Humnoid future, the evolution may no longer be forced by external agents but become a factor of our own advances brought about by the increase in intellect.  This picture discusses the various areas where the human-computing interface could occur.

With more enhanced human-computing interface, we can move to better android bodies as well.

Dr Pearson believes that with a full link between the human brain and a computer, people could move their mind into an improved android body.

‘This would allow people to have multiple existences and identities, or to carry on living long after their biological death,’ he wrote in the ‘Future Human Report.’

Writer’s Comments on Electronic Immortality

Thoughts and Experiences over generations [Study finds fear can travel through generations of DNA] (and possibly over lifetimes, if Hindus and Buddhists are to be believed) are part of our data baggage that we use to fashion our responses anyway.  Most of that Past Data-Our Reaction information is stored in a dormant manner.  Only part of that information is explicitly available in our conscious memory.

What this proposed electronic immortality will get the humans is more generational information will be constantly available.  That could not just not bring happiness, but take a person to depression.  Maybe the implants or external influences could alter the minds but those impacts may be very temporary.  We might be a population of self destructing species.
